Henner, a great pipe smoker, amassed a fine collection of them.

According to the testimonies of those close to him, Henner never went for a walk without his pipe. The painter built up a fine collection over the years, with more than twenty of his pipes preserved at the museum. Most are made of cherry wood with a horn stem, and come from the Vosges house of Ropp in Bussang.
