Madame Rima Abdul Malak, Minister of Culture, has appointed Charles Villeneuve de Janti to head the Etablissement public des musées nationaux Jean-Jaques Henner et Gustave Moreau, effective June 1, 2023.   

Born in 1980, Charles Villeneuve de Janti is General Curator of Heritage. A graduate of the Institut national d'histoire de l'Art and the Ecole du Louvre, he began his career in 2007 as curator of the modern graphic arts cabinet (19th and 20th centuries) at the Petit Palais, where he curated several exhibitions. In 2013, he became Director of the Musée des Beaux-Arts de Nancy, and then, in 2016, Director of Municipal Museums. In 2019, he was appointed Director of Collections at Paris Musées.
Charles Villeneuve de Janti has curated several exhibitions, including " Émile Friant (1863-1932): the last naturalist?" in 2016-2017 and "Notre Dame de Paris, de Victor Hugo à Viollet-le-Duc" in 2020. He is also the author of numerous publications. 

Charles Villeneuve de Janti succeeds Marie-Cécile Forest, director of the Musée national Gustave Moreau since 2001 and of the Musée national Jean-Jacques Henner since 2014 which became public institutions in 2017.
