Items from the Henner museum's collections are loaned out regularly for exhibitions in France and abroad.

This time, two portraits, Nun and The Countess Kessler, have been loaned to the Gothenburg Museum of Art in Sweden for its "Anywhere Out of the World" exhibition which opens shortly.

The exhibition is dedicated to the work of the little known Swedish symbolist painter, Olof Sager-Nelson (1868-1896). After training in Gothenburg, Sager-Nelson travelled to Paris and Brussels where he frequented the milieu of the symbolists, neo-romantics and expressionists. With reference to the relationships he formed with his contemporaries like Odilon Redon, Jean Delville, Eugène Carrière and Aman-Jean, the exhibition explores the cultural exchanges between France, Belgium and Scandinavian countries at the end of the nineteenth century.

The exhibition runs from 19 September 2015 to 24 January 2016 at the Gothenburg Museum of Art, and at the Thiel Gallery in Stockholm from 27 February to 5 June 2016.
