Plan for Museums
The French Ministry of Culture and Communication, in the framework of its “Plan for regional museums 2011-2013”, decided to renovate the ground floor of the Henner museum (lounge and winter garden) and the connecting spaces.
This includes :
- The rehabilitation of the ground floor, an area of approximately 220m2.
- The winter garden, including a new glass roof.
- The “column lounge”.
- The creation of an additional emergency exit onto the street, to allow an increase in the number of visitors to the museum at any one time, and the adaptation of the main entrance to bring it into compliance with regulations.
- The renovation of the basement and upper floors with:
- The installation of a toilet in the basement accessible to people with reduced mobility and construction of a new stairway.
- Converting the storeroom for the reserve collection with the creation of a mezzanine floor.
- Upgrading of utilities in these spaces including replacing the boiler in the basement and installation of heating in all rooms of the museum.
- Making the museum compliant with laws on accessibility for all.
- Cleaning of the building’s facade.
