In autumn 2023, the Musée National Jean-Jacques Henner will benefit from three deposits from the Musée Pasteur, three portraits of Louis Pasteur, his daughter Marie-Louise and his daughter-in-law Jeanne, painted by Henner. These works tell the story of the long friendship between the illustrious scientist and the talented painter. Through paintings, sculpture, photographs and archives, this exhibition-dossier retraces their relationship based on a shared sensitivity to art, mutual admiration and a deep attachment to Alsace, then a lost province since 1871.
